Hello! I am so glad to be a part of the SJCA family and I'm especially looking forward to teaching 4th grade!
A little bit about myself...I was born and raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin. I attended St. Mark Elementary until third grade and then moved on to the public school system, attending Jane Vernon, Lincoln Middle and Tremper High School. After high school, I went to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside where I graduated with a B.A. in History and a certificate in Art History. After graduation I worked for a couple of years and decided to go back to school for my teaching certification. I student taught in a 5th grade classroom at Nash Elementary in Kenosha. This past summer I taught 8th and 9th grade reading and writing at Greendale Middle School in Greendale, Wisconsin. The 2010-2011 school year marks my first year teaching and I know my students and I will learn so much from each other!
My family has been a part of the Kenosha community for generations. We are members of St. Mark's Parish and my mother, aunt and grandmother all sing in the contemporary choir. My mom and step-dad both work for Abbott Labs in Illinois and my dad works for Estes Trucking in Racine. I have two sisters; Jackie is my identical twin and Stephanie is a year and half younger. Jackie is also a teacher and Stephanie is a hair stylist. I have two nieces; Kayle and Charley and they attend SJCA lower campus. I live in an apartment with my two cats; Kuma and Nala.
In my free time I enjoy reading (a Kindle is on my Christmas wish list!), going to the movies, golfing, participating in fantasy football, watching the Green Bay Packers and hanging out with my family and friends.
